What domain name would be best for my website for SEO purposes?

Q: What domain name would be best for my website for SEO purposes?

A:  When talking to people about SEO, I always talk about the generic equivalent of your product or service. If you are a lawn mower repair website in Brisbane, see if the domain name www.mowerrepairsbrisbane.com.au is available.

Sometimes the domain you want has been registered already so you can get creative with dashes and other alternatives to the original domain.

In regards to the domain extension (.com.au .net.au etc) I always find that the .com.au works the best.

Please remember that simply registering this domain isn't enough, it's what you do with it. You may want to check out Using directories for SEO.
